New York improviser: Tom Brennan

Tom Brennan

Tom Brennan creates dreams for a living on the mean streets of New York City, where he’s spent all of his career, a lot of his life and most of his money.

Thanks to a childhood fondness for anxiety attacks, Tom decided to try stand-up comedy in the fall of 2003. Since then, he’s performed in clubs in New York, Philadelphia and San Diego. He’s studied improv comedy at The People’s Improv Theater in New York City and can be seen performing around town with his troupe, the Moscow River Sharks.

Outside of the clubs, he's been editing comics for Marvel Comics for four years. He also produces short films. His first film, Get Him Back, took first place in the New York City 24 Hour film race, and since then, he’s produced and written seven award winning short films that have screened all over New York City. He is currently adapting his latest short film, HazMatch, into a web-series.

He resides in Brooklyn in an apartment that overlooks historic Greenwood Cemetery, which only helps his deadpan delivery. He ain’t afraid of no ghosts. Just cockroaches and transit fair hikes.
