New York improviser: Sal Gentile

Sal Gentile

Sal is writer and performer based in New York. He performs every other Wednesday at UCB East with the Lloyd team City Mouse, and writes for the Maude team Supereasy. Sal has studied at UCB since 2009, under some incredible UCB performers, including Kevin Hines, Will Hines, Brandon Gardner, Porter Mason, Eddie Dunn, Brandon Scott Jones, Michael Delaney, Amber Petty and Silvija Ozols, among others.

Shows that he has performed in or written for at the UCB include: Immediately Great, The Macroscene, The Harold (Pinter), The Improvised Documentary, Improv Nerds, What Just Happened?, Sketch Cram!, New Scream Maude, the National Sketch Writing Month Show, School Night, Liquid Courage, the Del Close Marathon and others. He also wrote and performed in a monthly show at the Players Theatre and the PIT called "Skomp!" with his sketch group High Five Fest.

Sal is also a producer for "Up with Chris Hayes" on MSNBC. And an online video series he produced for PBS called "Presidentiality" was recently selected as an Official Honoree of the 2012 Webby Awards.

He has a Tumblr where he occasionally discusses science, baseball, comics and his favorite Star Trek episodes ("Darmok" is pretty high up there, for one).
