New York improviser: Alex Hoopes

Alex Hoopes

Alex Hoopes is a writer, comedian and performer based in Brooklyn, NY. She graduated summa cum laude from NYU Tisch with a BFA in dramatic writing and a double minor in social and cultural analysis and entertainment business. She’s a Libra, so she’s really outgoing and loves attention, but she’s also, like, super diplomatic in collaborative situations. She won the Goldberg Award for Outstanding Television Writing for her original pilot, "Black Sheep." A second pilot, "Flyover," about a rural religious cult, was a semi-finalist for the WGA's Made in NYC Writer's Room fellowship. She has completed curriculum and performs with her roommate Kendall on YouTube, in comedy clubs, and across their living room. She has also written, produced and starred in sixteen original videos on her “Alex and Kendall” YouTube channel. Alex works in Editorial at Little, Brown and Company, a division of Hachette Book Group, creating real paper books that you can hold.
