Tony Rodriguez
Tony Rodriguez is an actor and writer living in New York City. He began studying improv at the UCB in 2007 after several years performing (ahem) short-form. His brilliant teachers included Anthony King, Shannon O'Neill, Charlie Todd, Anthony Atamanuik and Dyna Moe. Tony is a proud alum of the UCB Harold Team The Bishop and the improvised Movie group, Oscarbait.
A Miami, FL native, Tony moved to New York in 1998 having already had his off-Broadway premiere in a play that Federico Garcia Lorca denied having written. He quickly earned his Equity card by playing Templeton the Rat in a national tour of Charlotte's Web - and he'd rather not talk about it, especially as regards the cheese hat. He is proud that FringeNYC reviewed his work in a NY International Fringe Festival production of RAPS as a 'gut-wrenching performance.'
Tony has co-written and appeared in several short films. Dan Savage (internationally-syndicated, best-selling author Dan Savage!) called his NOM parody, created with Happy Cousin, "the best yet." (Curious? Check out Happy Cousin's Video Page on Facebook!)
On television Tony has appeared on MTV Tr3s' Entertainment as a Second Language and WPIX's 'Doing It' campaign. He has played several super-fun roles for LandlineTV, specializing in earnest idiots and a**holes. He could play them for the rest of his life.
Tony shamelessly co-wrote and performed as Harvey Milk in MILK II : Harvey in Hell for UCB's Same Sex-tacular night - y de vez en cuando improvisa con his Spanish team, Improvisos Peligrosos.
If you are over 18 yearsof age and have 3 minutes to spare, check out his reel!
