Ora Fruchter is a Brooklyn based puppeteer, performer, director and educator. She enjoys collaborating with other musicians, clowns, and puppeteers to create highly visual theater pieces, finding humor and lightness in dark themes and using live music and actors along with puppets and objects. She has created several pieces for Puppet BloK at Dixon Place, Puppet Playlist and PUNCH Puppets. Some of her NYC puppeteer credits include Open (GSW Toy Theater Festival), Thirst: Memory of Water (La Mama E.T.C.) and Ego (Here Arts Center).
Ora writes and performs regularly for kids of all ages though her company Yellow Sneaker Productions, LLC. Her favorite Yellow Sneaker show is The Snacktivism Show, the story of a kangaroo who learns about food justice, debuted for college students at CUNY FoodFEST. She is currently developing a full-length interdisciplinary show with Christopher Scheer, An Existential Sing-Along, and is slated to present a workshop of the show in September at Puppet BloK at Dixon Place. Ora is a student at The Peopleâ€™s Improv Theater and a founding member of the improv team Gameface.
