Lauren Lapkus is an actress, comedian, and improviser. She has trained at iO Theater and The Annoyance in Chicago, as well as Upright CItizens Brigade in NYC. She has also studied at The Acting Studio Chicago and is a graduate of DePaul University.
After completing iO's training program in the autumn of 2004, she went on to perform there for the next four years with Severin, Soundczech, The Darned, and, most recently, Mike Helicopter. She was also a member of the long-form improvised puppet show, "Felt". Lauren performed regularly at The Playground Theater, with multiple groups including Red Hot Hi-Tops, the all-female team The MISSfits, and she was a core member of the weekly show Big Yellow Bus. She was also a contestant in the first season of Impress These Apes.
She is one half of the sketch duo, The Money Kids, and continues to write and perform with Candy Lawrence. The Money Kids', "Oh What, This Ol' Show?" was seen at SKETCHFEST NY, Donny's Skybox at Second City, The Playground, iO Chicago, The Annoyance, Chicago Sketchfest, and more. They also made an appearance on NBC's "In the Loop with iVillage" where they played improv games with Hal Sparks.
Lauren can currently be seen performing sketch comedy in New York City with The Money Kids and The Striking Viking Story Pirates and improv with Boys Club For Men and Time Lords. You can also catch her on TV in the Chicagoland area, advertising The Chicago Tribune. In November 2009 you can hear her as the voice of multiple characters on the PBS Kids webseries, "Lunch Lab".
