John Freiler

John began his career appearing on Star Search, winning his round against comedian Dennis Miller and appearing a total of seven times. In 1987, he landed a role on A Different World, playing "Coach Walter Oakes." From 1989 to 1991 he was the host of It's Showtime at the Apollo, returning again in 2005 when host Mo'Nique was on maternity leave. He won an Image award for his 1993 stand-up special, Afros and Bellbottoms. He's co-starred in such films as Necessary Roughness, Houseguest, and Jingle All The Way, for which he won a Blockbuster Entertainment Award for "Favorite Supporting Actor in a Family Film."

Actually, come to think of it, that might not have been John.
