New York improviser: Jodie Pfau

Jodie Pfau

Jodie has been acting since she was 7 and went to Fairfield University to pursue her BA in Theatre. It was there where she was first introduced to improvisational comedy. She played on Fairfield's premier improv team, On The Spot for three years. She followed other Fairfield Alumni to Armando Diaz's Magnet Theatre in NYC and has studied with Diaz, Mark Grenier, Peter McNerney, Louis Kornfeld, & Alex Marino. She has been a two-time member of The Magnet's Circuit Teams, and currently plays with five friends on Singles Cruise.

As an actress, Jodie has performed with numerous theatre companies in NYC including several productions with Inwood Shakespeare Festival and Manhattan Children's Theatre. Favorite roles include Juliet (Romeo & Juliet), Luciana (The Comedy of Errors), Rosalind (As You Like It), Gwendolen (The Importance of Being Earnest) and Lucy (You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown).

Jodie shares her love for theatre every day as a High School Drama Teacher at a performing arts high school in Brooklyn. She is currently working on a devised piece with her Senior class, who is using improvisation to create their characters.
