Jay Painter

Jay is the co-founder/Artistic Director of Face Off Unlimited. He has led the creation and served as director for their original live stage shows BATSU!, Goon River, Nads, The New York City Improv Face Off, The 11th Hour Improv Show, and Two Gentlemen of Verona.

Jay has toured to colleges across the country with Face Off's critically acclaimed rockin' three-man long form show "A Whole 'Nother Level". He is a comedy warrior in BATSU! and performs regularly in the New York City Improv Face Off in Times Square. He is also one of the stars of the hit comedy podcast "In the Room."

Jay has performed on numerous national tours and in Off-Broadway productions, as well as regular appearances in television, films and commercials. He is a member of Equity and SAG.

Jay teaches and coaches improv with Face Off University in LIC, Queens and is director of the Shakespeare Leaders program in Harlem where he directs high school students in full scale Shakespeare productions.

He hails from the mountains of West Virginia where studied acting and directing at Davis and Elkins College and Shepherd University, as well as training with master mime Reid Gilbert. He has studied improvisation with Second City, The PIT, Joe Bill, and Steven Ivich, among others.
