New York improviser: Heather Jewels

Heather Jewels

Trained as a singer/actor (NYU), Heather most recently played the role of Car Darch in the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity presentation of Tess, a Rock Opera. She has also appeared regionally in roles such as Lucille Frank (Parade), Emma Carew (Jekyll & Hyde), Marie (The Scarlet Pimpernel), and Mrs. Lovett (Sweeney Todd). Off-Broadway, she has played Angelique in O Pioneers!; and Dunyasha in The Cherry Orchard. She has appeared in numerous cabaret performances, most recently as a soloist with the cast of Broadway’s The Producers. She once sang at Carnegie Hall in a backup chorus for Alec Baldwin (...no, he wasn’t singing.) She has appeared as both an extra in mainstream films (sharp eyes may spot her in the special features section of The Royal Tenenbaums) and as a lead in some independent short films, including one where she played a blood-soaked, leather-clad German punk rocker. Comedy-wise, Heather has studied with the Upright Citizens Brigade (both regular and musical improv) and was a member of sketch troupe I Got Your Monkey before landing with the good crew of Start Trekkin'.
