New York improviser: Dan Hartley

Dan Hartley

Dan is a New York based writer and actor living in Brooklyn. He's a television writer for Meetinghouse Productions and TruTV. He also has worked as a script doctor for Warner Brothers and Disney. His musical, "The Harmonious Pimps of Harmony" has been seen off broadway in New York and at the Williamstown Theater Festival.

Acting work for film and television credits include: SMASH, Law & Order: SVU, Inside Amy Schumer, All My Children, Permanent Midnight, Las Vegas, Boston Public, Close to Home, Walker, Texas Ranger, multiple episodes on the WB's Grounded for Life, and several commercials.

NY & Regional theater credits include: Jester's Dead, (The PIT), Pandora's Box (NYMF, dir. Wayne Cilento), Six Degrees of Separation, A Flea in her Ear, After the Revolution, Golden Gate (Williamstown Theater Festival), Zombies Actually (New Orleans Fringe Festival), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Telluride Shakespeare Festival), and This is Our Youth by Kenneth Lonnergan (West Coast Premiere).

His short, "United 300" won the MTV Movie Award for "Best Spoof" in 2007.

Dan has trained and performed at iO West, The Groundlings, Upright Citizens Brigade (NY), and The People's Improv Theater where he currently performs with Cash Only, and the house team, Gypsy Danger.
