New York improviser: Cathleen Carr

Cathleen Carr

Cathleen Carr is an improviser, writer, storyteller and overall person of comedy. Her fancy two-woman comedy extravaganza, Two Girls For Five Bucks has been seen all over the country, most recently at Ars Nova in New York City. Cathleen currently writes and performs with Naked Radio, the latest project from New York’s Naked Angels. Online, Cathleen portrays Mitzie in Simpatico, the web series.

Cathleen was a mainstage performer with Boston’s Improv Asylum for four years where she wrote and performed in multiple revues. Cathleen has performed at all the major improv festivals in North America with Waiting for Ennis Cotter, an improvised Irish comedy. She has graced the stages of Improv Boston, the Peoples Improv Theater, the Magnet Theater, UCB, the Zipper Factory and the Comedy Central Stage at the Hudson Theater in Los Angeles. She is co-creator and regular contributor to Ready, Set…Wife! an online temple dedicated to the bizarre institution of marriage. Cathleen was a company member with WNEP Theater in Chicago where she performed in the Mysteries of Harris Burdock, Armageddon Radio Hour and Postmortem.

Cathleen has performed and taught improv and sketch comedy for the past ten years in Chicago, Boston and New York. Recently, she served as a senior programmer for the first annual Friar’s Club Sketch + Improv Competition which was held in New York City at UCB in June of 2010.
