New York improviser: Andy Weiss

Andy Weiss

Andy is a comedian and actor in New York. He is a founding member of the musical improv team Veal, and also a member of the regular old improv teams Identity Theft and Ghost Fight. With these teams he has performed in basements, lofts, bomb shelters and shantytowns around the city, including Cage Match at Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre, the Del Close Marathon, and even travelling as far as Boston for the Boston Improv Festival. He has also been in videos on Funny or Die, College Humor, VH1’s Best Week Ever, and on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. In addition to performing made up things in basements, he has also appeared in plays performed in basements, such as “Alien to Antiquity” at the Gene Frankel Theatre and “If This Ain’t It!” at the Theater for the New City.

Originally from Detroit, he has also written and starred in shows that people watched while they ate dinner (don’t call it dinner theatre!) and was Bub the Alien doing children’s “good-touch, bad-touch theatre” in the Michigan county with the highest incest rate in the state.
